Skip the supply shortages & #ShopArt with Local Artisans
Yes, that’s right, the Earth’s largest art event - Artists Sunday 2021 – features thousands of artists from coast to coast. I’m so excited to see the holiday shopping scene shift to celebrating local and small businesses over the years with the introduction of Small Business Saturday, and last year's inaugural addition of Artists Sunday! Artists Sunday, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, November 28th, encourages consumers to shop with artists. Think of it like Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, or Cyber Monday but for shopping for art! Artists bring so much value, joy, and beauty to our communities; it’s wonderful to have a day that brings focus to that, especially this year between the pandemic and global supply chain issues.
Artists Sunday was kickstarted right in the NW (in Kent, WA!), and in its second year features 4,200 individual artists in over 500 communities across the country! This year's supply chain challenges make Artists Sunday even more important. “The supply chain shortages have affected everything from electronics, furniture, appliances, sporting goods and more,” said Artists Sunday founder Christopher V. Sherman. “But local artists, creators and makers have a fantastic assortment of gift items readily available for the discerning shopper.”
Join me in shopping from local artisans and skip that whole supply chain issue by finding gifts, art, décor and more, made in our local communities!

HOLIDAY EVENTS
After summer travels and some time on the Oregon coast, I created a new series of oil paintings infused with the feeling of sun and fog, salt and wind of our rugged, rocky northwest beaches. It's been great to exhibit the Coastal works at art events and local shops in October and November, and I have been so pleased by the response. The remaining artworks and more prints are now up in my web store in time for Artists Sunday! I’ll also be opening the studio on the weekend after Artists Sunday, on December 4th from noon to 7pm, for the Building C Annual Holiday Open Studios & Artists Market. I'll be joined by 24 other local artists and makers in this fun and family-friendly holiday tradition.
To be in the know, there are a few easy things I want you to do for me:
